what to do with 4 days in norway: lofoten

Day 1 — Arrival in Reine

  • Fly: Into Leknes Airport.

  • Stop: Ramberg Beach on the way from the airport.

  • Hike: Kvalvika Beach (beautiful hike, highly recommend).

  • Stay: Reine Rorbuer — classic red fishing cabins on the water with amazing views; rooms are very simple.

  • Dinner: Reine Rorbuer.

Day 2 — Reine

  • Morning: Hike Reinebringen. It’s all stairs (FYI) and can get crowded, so go early. The views at the top are absolutely breathtaking, so this is very worth it.

  • Lunch: Anita’s Seafood — delicious food in a cool setting. Highly recommend.

  • Afternoon: Hike to Bunes Beach.

  • Dinner: Holmen — my favorite meal in Lofoten. The food is creative and delicious, and the setting feels like the end of the world. (You could also stay here!)

Day 3 — Drive to Henningsvær

  • Hike Volandstinden — highly recommend. The views are insane (you’re above the clouds), and we saw almost no one on the trail, which made it feel really special.

  • Lunch: Maren Anna.

  • Afternoon: Golf at Lofoten Links.

  • Evening: Walk around town.

  • Dinner: Fiskekrogen, a classic seafood spot.

  • Stay: Henningsvær Bryggehotell.

Day 4 — Departure

  • Fly: Home from Svolvær.

Another hike option is Festvågtind, which we didn’t do since it’s similar to Reinebringen and we didn’t have time for both. If you do, try it!
